Continuing Education Courses

The information provided on this page is offered as a convenience to Certified Interior Designers (CIDs) and does not represent a comprehensive list of all accepted CEUs.

Please Note:

  • The listed courses and providers are not offered by or affiliated with CCIDC.
  • CEUs completed through professional organizations, clubs, or groups
    • Including but not limited to AIA, AIBD, ASID, IDS, IFDA, IIDA, NKBA, etc.
    • College or university coursework, may be accepted when properly reported through your online CID Account.
  • All CEUs must be relevant to Interior Design, Architecture, or the business thereof to satisfy CCIDC’s continuing education requirements.

The state of California imposes Sunset Review on all state boards, and CCIDC is part of this process. CCIDC Board Meetings

Free (up-to) 0.2 CEUs All CIDs who attend our board meetings will receive free (up-to) .2 CEU (2 hours). To receive your CEU credit, you must sign in and stay to the end of the meeting. Board meetings are always held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. They are held three times per year (January, May and September). This CEU opportunity began at our Annual Board meeting May 14, 2016 and is not retroactive.

IDEX Exam Preparation

The CCIDC IDEX study page  CEU’s for Certified Interior Designers are available from these individual courses. CIDs who take IDEX® Prep Courses receive 10 hours of CEU credit (1.0) from CCIDC. Please Note: Credit is not given to Candidates who are not yet Certified and take the course to study for the IDEX® Exam.

AEC Daily

AEC Daily provides free Online Continuing Education. Their site provides access to educational resources, CAD details, building products information, industry news and discussion forums for interior designers, architects, engineers, construction professionals and owners. CCIDC is an AEC Daily as a certified continuing education partner! When you take a course from AEC Daily, enter your CID#.

CALBO Professional Development offers various classes on accessibility and codes.  

Chaffey College Codes and Building Systems Course

Chaffey College Code Course This course examines building codes and building systems relative to interior design and architecture. Special emphasis is placed on international, California, and local code requirements in relation to interior design projects. Course Selection Information: ID-45, Codes and Building Systems.

The Continuing Architect

The Continuing Architect courses are all free of charge and eligible for AIA/CCIDC CEU credit (see course details for specific credit eligibility).

Design Arts Seminars Inc.

Design Arts Seminars Inc. offers home study programs, seminars, getaway CE weekends and study abroad programs to give you plenty of options to explore to comply with mandatory continuing education requirements. DAS is an AIA** registered provider as well as an IIDA (International Interior Design Association) industry member and a member of the Better Business Bureau.

Hanley Wood University

Hanley Wood University offers many courses for interior designers, builders, architects, lighting designers and other building professionals. Courses are free but user registration is required.

InteriorDesign-ED

InteriorDesign-ED is an IDCEC preferred Continuing Education Provider. Offering both live classes in LA and San Diego as well as 44 recorded on demand webinars. Select from 1.0 and 1.2 CEU packages. Classes accepted by CCIDC, ASID and IIDA.

ICC  provides educational opportunities designed to help building professionals excel in their career.

Ron Blank & Associates provides free continuing education for Certified Interior Designers, architects, and other design professionals. Special login instructions for Certified Interior Designers: When creating an account with Ron Blank leave the “AIA Member” box unchecked, and enter “none” in the “AIA Member Number” field.
Certified Interior Designers use title “registered interior designers” and enter California (CA) the state(s) abbreviation in that field, and Certification number in the “registration number” field.
