Dear CIDs, IDEX Candidates and Colleagues,
Like you, CCIDC has been intently following the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. Governor Newsom has called a state of emergency and quarantine orders. As this applies to CCIDC, we will comply with the executive order, which means, our June 6, 2020 Annual Business Meeting cannot be held as currently scheduled. As a precaution we have chosen to hold the June 6, 2020 meeting in an online Webinar format.
We thank you for your continued patience. At this time, CCIDC is attempting to move the Annual Business Meeting in its current format, as well as the Compassion In Design Project to June 5, 2021, and we are finalizing those details as we speak. Given the many questions and comments currently circulating, we wanted you to hear from CCIDC.
Your wellbeing and safety of is paramount to CCIDC, and we thank you for your patience and support.
As a part of CCIDC’s 2020 Vision plan, we are starting our Compassion In Design program; to reach out to the Design Community, Design Students and in turn Outreach to the communities we live and work in.
The CCIDC June 5, 2021 Annual Board Meeting will be held in the Sacramento area, the CCIDC Board wanted a creative way to help local design students, engage more of the local design firms, and give back to the local community, in order to promote new Annual Business Meeting format.

This year’s Compassion in Design project will team local Design Students with local Design Firms to help local community non-profit programs in need of minor renovation projects.
All Design students from the Sacramento area colleges are encouraged to fill out the interest form and submit their plans for consideration. One winner for each project will be selected to work with a local Design Firm that will sponsor their project. The winners will be announced at the June 5, 2021 CCIDC Annual Business Meeting Award Luncheon. Submissions must be received by May 15, 2021. Students may submit for all 3 projects, but can only win once. The projects will be scheduled for completion at a date after the awards that works best for the parties involved.
Design firms who wish to sponsor a student and local non-profit organization, please fill out the sponsorship form. You will work with the student and the non-profit agency directly to complete the project. Details and more information will be provided with completed sponsorship forms.
If you are unable to be a full sponsor, you can still make a donation towards the project, see the donation forms below, 100% of your donation will go directly to the project of your choice.
