Color Trends for 2010 through 2012, plus Psychology of Color and Cultural Color
Instructor Zara Stender, CID #6025

Part One Trends and the Function of Color.  Zara Stender tracks national
and international color trends and forecasts as a leader in Color Marketing Group, one of the foremost authorities on the impact of color. Stender will explain how color trends evolve, and discuss direction in color for fashion, durable goods, the built environment, and why successful color must follow function.
Part Two
Psychology of Color Do people really spend more money when they are surrounded by red and purple? Color is a powerful, often misunderstood tool. It has biological and physiological influence on mood, energy, appetite, pain perception, hot and cold sensation, taste, I.Q. scores, and, yes, buying decisions. Explore the biological and psychological impact of color.

New Addition! Do you know what colors offend your Japanese, Chinese, or German client? Do you know what colors are always acceptable to an English client? What about Gen Xers, Boomers? Cultural Color will explore color as perceived by various ethnic groups:Chinese, Japanese, Korean, South American, European,  Middle Eastern, East Indian, American Indian, Russian, Northern Baltic and others and how the blurring of these cultures are affecting regional palettes. This new addition to the Color Trends seminar will delve into cultural distinctions, knowledge that could give you an edge with your clients no matter what ethnicity, age or socio-economic level.
