HGTV Seeks Certified Interior Designers Marisa Hill is casting interior design experts for a new HGTV show called Design Club with Matt and Shari. The show will be shot in Hollywood in
February �08 and guest designers will be needed for one day.They are looking for energetic design experts who have some television experience. Preference will be given to designers (CIDs) who live or work in the

FREE Magazine Subscription for CIDs CIDs who renew their Certification will receive a free, one-year subscription to �Western Interiors� magazine. We are inserting the "free
subscription� form with every I.D. card we send out. When you received your new I.D. card, simply fill in the subscription form and mail it in.
FREE and Low Cost CEU�s CIDs are required to have 1.0 credit (10 hours) for every two years of Certification (equiv. to .5 credits = 5 hours each year). Catch up on
your CEU a requirement by taking some of these FREE or low cost CEU�s.
Did you know? When reporting your CEU�s to CCIDC, you may round up to the nearest hour. Example: a 45-minute CEU may be
reported as 0.1 (1 hour)
Coming soon! CEU Registry - We are working on our exclusive online CEU reporting system which will be available for FREE to all CIDs. You will be able to
create your own account, enter and save your completed CEU's and store your contact information to stay current with CCIDC. While the registry is still being developed you may report your CEU�s here, and provide us with your change of address here. If you have moved in the past two years,
please let us know so we have your current contact information.
CCRE Results for October Exam + Dates for 2008 The October 2007 CCRE results are: Out of 85 candidates who sat for the exam, 59 passed, which is a pass rate of 69%. Letters to all 85
candidates were mailed earlier this week. If you haven't received your results by the end of next week, please call the CCIDC office at 760-761-4734 or E-mail us.
Also of interest to CCRE candidates - - The current CCRE will remain in effect for next year (2008) as the new codes are not effective until January 1st, 2008 and most jurisdictions probably won't adopt them until approximately 6 months later. CIDs should still learn and start using the new codes wherever it is applicable. The CCIDC board will be working on a new updated CCRE throughout 2008 and plans to have it in place as an online 24/7 examination by the beginning of 2009. In the meantime CCRE candidates in 2008 should use the study material and study guide they are given when they register which is based upon the 1997 UBC and the 1998 CBC.
The next CCRE dates are: April 19, 2008 October 18, 2008
The deadline to register for the April exam is Feb. 25, 2008 The deadline
to register for the October exam is Sept. 2, 2008
The CCRE is one of our exam requirements to become a Certified Interior Designer in the state of
California. The exam can be taken anytime, by anyone. There are no prerequisites requiring education or experience. Interior design students are encouraged to take the CCRE to start their Certification process
