Become Part of the Code-Making Process
The California Building Standards Commission is now accepting applications for their Code Advisory Committee members for the 2006 Annual Code Adoption Cycle. We encourage CIDs to apply as a public member.
There are five code advisory committees: 1. Accessibility 2. Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical, and Energy 3. Building, Fire, and Other 4. Structural Design/Lateral forces 5. Health Facilities
Each committee has a seat for a local Government Building Official, and some have positions for public member, architect, fire official, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, structural engineers, etc.
As there are no committee seats specifically for CIDs, you are still eligible to apply as a public member. The application deadline is March 31, 2006.
Please apply to give a voice to the interior design profession at the building code writing level and enhance the standing of interior designers with building and state officials.
You may submit applications to Thomas Morrison, Deputy Executive Director, California Buildings Standards Commission, 2525 Natomas Park Drive, Suite 130,
Sacramento, CA 95833 or contact Mr. Morrison at 916-263-0916 or through e-mail at tom.morrison@dgs.ca.gov For more information visit www.bsc.ca.gov
